In one line

GymLift is a strength training log for iPhone and Apple Watch that plans today's session for you: weights, sets and rest are set from your recovery, and every change comes with the reason why.

In one paragraph

GymLift is a strength training log for iPhone and Apple Watch, built by a solo developer. Every morning it turns sleep, heart-rate variability and resting heart rate from Apple Health, plus a 30-second check-in, into a readiness score measured against the user's own baseline — and that score sets today's weights, sets and rest. Each change is shown with its reason on the exercise card, and the original plan is one tap away. The Apple Watch app runs a whole session on its own, without the phone. The logger, the plan, the score, the watch and CSV import and export are free forever; the daily adaptation is the paid tier.

Five facts

  1. The watch is not a companion. It runs the full session on its own — sets, rest, heart rate — and syncs with the phone afterwards. No phone needed in the gym.
  2. The plan changes daily, and says why. Lighter loads after a short night, an extra set when recovered — with the reason printed on the card, and the original plan one tap away.
  3. Nothing about your body leaves your devices. Readiness and the plan are computed on the iPhone and the watch; the data lives in the user's own iCloud. No password account, no ads, never sold.
  4. Every rule is data. The weights, thresholds and windows behind each decision live in a config file, and every decision keeps a full trace from inputs to output.
  5. Free forever means the logger. Previous values on every row, a rest timer, supersets, warm-ups, timed sets, 463 exercises with looping videos, Apple Watch, import and export — all free. The daily adaptation is the paid tier.

About the developer

George Pirkulov builds GymLift alone. He lifts, and built the app after years of trackers that recorded what he had done and never changed what he should do that day. No investors, no ad budget, no growth team.
